The Peel to Knockaloe Railway (1915-1920) by The Manx Transport Heritage Museum.

This fabulous little book incorporates a detailed walkers' guide to the route of the former Knockaloe railway line, taking you from Peel Quay

to the site of Knockaloe WW1 Internment Camp, together with a wealth of technical details of running the line written by the knowledgeable volunteer team involved in the Manx Transport Heritage Museum in Peel.

Following the sell-out first edition, this extended second edition is launched in 2023, the 150th anniversary of the Island's Steam Railway commemorating this extraordinary Knockaloe branch line, providing critical food and fuel to the internees, guards and staff of Knockaloe Internment Camp during WW1.

Why not ‘walk the line’ through to Knockaloe Visitors Centre and find out about this incredible short-lived line.

The publication raises funds for both The Manx Transport Heritage Museum and The Knockaloe Charitable Trust. The Manx Transport Heritage Museum is open Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5pm Easter to the end of October (tel: 01624 842448), and also holds an annual classic and vintage vehicle rally on Peel Carnival Day.
