BBC Breakfast Opening of Centre

On Monday 6th May we were delighted to preview the opening of the centre to the public on BBC Breakfast, in advance of our opening our doors to the public on Friday 10th May at 10am so to hear more about this amazing project look out for us bright and early in the morning! We should just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made this morning's BBC coverage possible....

..... to everyone who came out at the crack of dawn, to take part in the coverage telling the story of the world's largest WW1 Internment Camp here at Knockaloe in the Isle of Man...

..... to those who made their contributions prior to the morning, Dawn, Michael, the Tack Box and of course the fabulous drone footage shared below, all of which were so vital to the piece...

..... to Dave who farms those fields and kindly created a special area for the event to take place...

..... and of course a huge thank you to Rick and Johnny from the BBC for the excellent coverage - pictured within our team photo after we hear those inevitable words "its a wrap".

It was also great Pilates and fun to be doing it with you all.

The Charity has already had an amazing response with new enquiries and information coming in from people who have seen the coverage, which helps us to tell this incredible story of the experiences of the internees and guards who lived within our community 100 years ago.

We look forward to one day welcoming them to the new Visitors Centre which finally opens its doors after six years of incredibly hard work at the end of the week - what a great way to launch - Thank you all!.
