Lovely to see this box made at Douglas camp on Antiques Roadshow last night - you can imagine how thrilled we were late last year when the owners emailed and offered to donate it to the Centre for WW1 Internment.
BBC presenter Paul Atterbury commented on how lovely it would be if one day the descendants of this Douglas and Knockaloe internee could be found - the Charity seeks to do just that - to provide a Central place for all of the information on the internees to be indexed, collated and curated so that when a descendant contacts us we can either show them information about their grandfather or great grandfather etc, or point them in the direction of where information is located.
Thanks so very much to all of the lovely people who contacted us last night to tell us about this item being on
