The graveyard surrounding Patrick Church was extremely important to the Camp. It is here that the Guards and internees were laid to rest, and the internees would raise funds to ensure those destined never to leave the Island could be laid to rest with care and dignity, and was and still is very much part of the village, with so many stories to tell of the people laid to rest there.
