Each of the ordinary men, the internees, the guards, the manx people involved in the camp, as well as the Patrick villagers, have an extraordinary story to tell.
The current descendants are likely to be the last who may have first or second hand knowledge of the people involved in this incredible story 100 years ago. As time goes by, the understanding of retained documents or snippets of family stories may mean that this knowledge becomes lost forever.
Please share with us what you know of your family’s story. We would like to safeguard these stories to retell for future generations, and by collecting them together it may lead to you learning more about your family, and it may well hold the key to unlocking the stories for other descendants.
