Exploring the site & village

A self-guided interactive tour from the Visitors Centre will allow visitors to explore the evidence of that past history in the village and on Knockaloe Farm itself. With exciting plans to recreate aspects of the Camp and its huts, the Visitor experience will be continually developed to allow a greater understanding and interpretation of the camp and camp life, as well as allowing descendants real insight into where their internee ancestor lived.

On 19 May 2016 the Charity was invited by DEFA to present their project to the public meeting at Patrick Schoolrooms explaining their vision for Knockaloe to work in tandem with any new tenant. The project is 100% donated and voluntary, seeking only pathways and a small area of land to locate original Knockaloe Huts. The project is detailed in the four slides below.
